PAAK will be an option if it’s not standard. I can’t see why Scout would waste resources on their own thing and not just pull directly from Rivian’s parts bin. It’s just that Rivian’s implementation hasn’t exactly been the best. I’ve been fairly lucky but I know others have struggled.Well. Looks like a fob.
something built into my phone would be pretty nice to have. An app that is always ready so I can just walk up to my car and start it without having to do anything else
Only inconvenience with that is you likely will still have to present your keycard somewhere on the vehicle to unlock and sometimes start, whereas with a FOB or PAAK you have proximity unlock and start. I personally would rather wait a second for the car to unlock than touch a card to the exterior of the car every time but maybe the prox technology will make leaps in the next 2-3 years lol here's to hoping!I prefer a fob to the phone as a key. But the EV fobs I have (Mustang and Lightning) are massive. I'd really like a credit-card sized fob that can fit in my wallet.
It should be possible by now to engineer a fob that's flatter and wider than the traditional keyfob and that works at a distance.Only inconvenience with that is you likely will still have to present your keycard somewhere on the vehicle to unlock and sometimes start, whereas with a FOB or PAAK you have proximity unlock and start.
