I can tell you my ACC on my F250 in all practical purposes can not be turned off - that is to say, I can tell it to turn off - but if the system is not working, it disables all cruise control. That is really annoying if the sensor gets mud on it.
On the MachE and F150 (I would assume F250 is the same, it's all Sync3/4) you can switch from adaptive cruise to standard cruise in the center screen under driver assistance. Then the switch on the wheel will toggle standard cruise control on and off. I've had to do this when the radar got flooded in a bad storm.

I think they are going to have to include some form of self driving. A lot of current EV owners have had this for some time and many will be expecting this for roadtrips etc. Seems like the Traveller would have to have this.

Given that Rivian software seems hinted at, they should at least adopt that. While its not the best maybe by 2027 it could be a lot better.

I currently drive a Tesla Y and it has the basic "AutoPilot". This includes adaptive cruise control and will actively steer the vehicle to keep it centered in its current lane even on curves. I didn't think I would use the steering thing very much, but on long trips it has been great! Each time I've used it on long trips, I find that I arrive less drained from the long drive. I would love to see that capability on the Scout - not just a correction if you start to drift into an adjoining lane.

I'm hopeful for Lane Centering and Adaptive Cruise Control at the least. I don't need much more than that, but given those features are easily incorporated through automotive suppliers (e.g. Mobile Eye), it should be easy. Also, both Rivian and VW offer those features so it should be an easy port into Scout.

Ya I don't think we'll ever see things like auto parking and summons like on Teslas. Those would be silly on a rugged off-roady vehicle.

I'd be happy with just cruise control. FSD on our Tesla is more dangerous than helpful and it gives you strikes when doing simple things like looking down to grab your coffee. It brakes for no reason and will turn on its high beams when other cars are approaching. It's stressful to use. We've not used it for a long time and don't miss it.

I can turn off adaptive cruise on my F250 when it is working. When the sensors go on the fritz, adaptive is disabled and even if I turn it "off" I can not use the conventional cruise control. When I got the truck new, took 4 months for them to fix the adaptive cruise control. Loose bolts - I had the dealer put on an aftermarket bumper. It was not attached properly and had a slight vibration.

People see EV's as high tech vehicles. VW has a fairly good driver assist system. NOT offering it will hurt sales. I doubt many people will be buying a Traveler as an off-road only vehicle. I bet most will make trips with them. Making it obsolete out of the factory just does not seem good marketing - Either include the features with an off switch, or make it an option.
