Anyone else losing excitement/interest?

I like the Terra Harvester. I'm going to wait until they are actually rolling off the line before making a decision. That's about the time I'll be looking at a new truck.

The new factory will have plenty of space. I think they should pull out the plans for the last Scout produced and start making those again.

In 2017 Ford announced they we bringing the Bronco back in 2020, I leased a car while awaiting the Broncos'. Bronco reservations opened in July 2020 and I reserved one, I took delivery in 2024.

Reserved a Scout in 2024- Based upon my experience with Ford I'll get impatient sometime in 2031 or 2032.

Yea, us Bronco people are like "Reservation Drama, hold my beer and watch this!"

I've lost interest after I evaluated the size of the Terra; it's nearly a full sized truck. And the Harvester tucked up behind the rear axle? LMAO. That is the worst place to put an engine and generator.

Was so excited at the beginning. Loved the Traveler and all it offered. Thought the Harvester option was simply awesome.

Then I found out the Harvester took away half of the battery-only range and handicapped towing. So, I cancelled it and kept the BEV version.

Then Trump announced his tariffs and my country (Canada) announced reciprocal tariffs. Then there was a logical discussion that it wouldn't make any sense for Scout to offer sales or service centres in Canada given the new animosity between the two former allies.

And now we know that it's going to cost Scout more to build the vehicle. Especially, if any components are coming from China as Trump just announced 104% tariffs on all Chinese goods and he's said that's only the beginning. The world order is reshaping and it's anyone's guess what this will mean.

Also, my investments are way down and spending up $100K on this SUV is now a no-go. Before you flame me that it's not $100K, remember I'm in Canada and our dollar is very weak.

I used to check this forum a couple of times a day. Now I barely think about it anymore and am on the cusp of getting my $150.00 BEV reservation deposit back.

Is anyone else feeling the same way or am I just a whiny b1tch and most of you will just wish me good riddance?

You have time friend. No point in making a decision when you have literal years to go before you have to pick one way or the other. Your reservation fee will still be worth the same amount on the other side of this presidency thankfully. (Whatever that looks like for those of us that live here...)

And for a lot of us - the fact that it is full sized is why we are interested. Of course - Full Sized is relative. It is not 3rd row seating, or F250 full sized. Having gone from 6' bed, to 5.5' bed, to 6.5' bed - I will never have another 5.5' bed 1/2 ton truck.

Having had a pickup in my personal fleet for all but 8 years of my 46-year driving life, I've had a small, single-cab 7' bed, a full-size single cab 8' bed, and currently, a mid-size 5.5' bed. Each truck fit my needs and use case at the time in my life I needed them. I'll need to replace my current truck in a few years due to age and condition. I don't need a full-size or near full size truck. My use case won't change.

But the Harvester location, oh boy, I just don't see that as a practical engineering solution. As an engineer, I appreciate the challenge, but cooling system design and corrosion protection are my biggest concerns to keep it in a reasonable cost box.

After reading many of the comments here, I can certainly relate to many sentiments. For me personally, my interest has diminished for several reasons, none enough to cancel my reservation though. From a manufacturer's standpoint putting out a concept vehicle and weekly updates makes sense to build interest, from a consumer's standpoint, it's very normal to simply lose enthusiasm during such a long wait, and that includes me. Two years is a very long time, and so much can change during that time. Both in your life's priorities and the production of the vehicle itself. Most of us who have been into vehicles our entire adult life are very used to the end result ultimately being a disappointment. As far as this forum, I have no interest in politically based gripes or discussions. So when a topic goes in that direction, I for one just check out. And though it's not a constant thing, defending my choice of owning a GT350 over a Rivian also gets tiresome immediately. I've never taken the stance of ICE vs EV. I'm on here because of my interest in this new Scout. Not specifically because it's an EV, but not excluding it because it is either. I embrace all forms of vehicles. And if I like them enough, I'll purchase them. I hope Scout comes through here, and builds the vehicle many of us desire. Until then, life goes on and we wait.....

Yes they will, but the elephant in the room is will it change for the better? or worse? Most people do not realize how intertwined the world's economy is.

HAVING been through the Bronco reintroduction experience as an early resevationist, this Scout trip is Deja Vu all over again. My hopes are that no world pandemic will plague us again.

Now that I realize the Harvester is an afterthought, my Spidysense is telling me to cash out. I think the Harvester is easily two years out farther than the BEV version. I think I'm going to let it all play out first.

I wouldn't give up on it just yet. The Harvester is a great concept that will attract buyers. They do need to let go of the idea of stuffing it underneath, and building their own generator using a VW engine. I don't see that working out well, especially for a vehicle that is intended to be taken off road and on trails. Maybe that is why no details about it have been released. I don't see it going anywhere but up front. They should partner with an experienced generator producer that can provide nationwide service. We have owned a motor home, with a generator that needed service, and the Harvester experience will likely be similar. People will need an available Service Center, or it will quickly become a black eye for Scout. No amount of sugar will overcome the bitterness of that first taste of poor service.

Like you this is wearing on me, I need a new vehicle now or later this summer, not "maybe next year." And in these days of price variability, I am ready to pick up a made in USA ICE Subaru and call my EV goals over.

I don't think the Harvester is an afterthought - but it is a planned for an intended market, and when you plan for one intended market - you probably will not satisfy every other market. I think it is designed to address range anxiety for the majority of the market (which is not towing). It is not intended for the tiny subset of the market that is range anxiety while towing. Perhaps they may address that market down the road, but it is a difficult market. Where do you stop? Plenty of people tow with 1/2 ton trucks, but others need 3/4 tons, others realize that 1 ton is a better/safer option for real towing. Once you go that far, how much further do you go with commercial vehicles...

I was just reviewing the pics of each vehicle. I just don't see how a est. 250HP 4-cylinder engine with generator fit between the rear axle and bumper.
