Super excited to be following the visual design stories and how intentional each Scout rep is in their presentations! However, I've been thinking about sound lately. Specifically the sound of the Scout when backing up/driving around, the inevitable air warping when I open a window too much/too little, and that roof rack.

The biggest concern I have is the inevitable "wouldn't it be cool if we could replicate Blade Runner" noise EVs are making now when they are backing up/driving around parking lots. It's so damn contrived and counter to the whole scout ethic. Having known folks who have been in accidents when early EV/hybrid vehicles were driving around without an audible notification, I get there needs to be some sound...but please just don't give it that horrendous whirr or, more importantly, try to mimic some ICE growl. Perhaps a raven's caw (j/k)?

Ever since automakers decided we needed hyperbaric chamber-style cabins (yes, I understand it's neat to be able to have clean air while driving through wildfire smoke/other sorts of air pollution...), I have hated the need to drop two windows at the same time in order to not blow out an ear drum (hyperbole for the hyperbaric analogy). While this may not be sound design, it's all connected.

Finally, that roof rack looks quite fun and practical, but what kinda noise will it produce at speed?

Excited to continue to learn/be on this journey with y'all.
