OHV trails interesting spots not always listed on maps,, for a good reason.

We’re near Randsberg Ca. on a OHV trip with our Can Am.
Everyplace will be accessible in your Scout.

We’re currently camped about 1/4 mile from an X15 crash site.

No mention of its locations trail entrance as you pass by on the highway.
This helps prevent vandals and it works.

Yesterday we headed to the Steam Pipe
Well petroglyphs.

First thing we do when camped is collect trash:

Dumpster in town open to the public.
Biggest item we’ve found is a 280z bumper.

Wife likes to venture way way out and check on water “guzzlers.”
They percolate up water year round collected from rain for the wildlife.

Amazing how they work and more amazing they work at all.

A popular run is to the Husky Monument.
Jim Erickson passed away and friends mounted his motorcycle in memory of his passing. Others have set memorials in memory of their lost friends

I took 6 bags into town to the gas station dumpster. Arrived just after the owner got robbed.

We have found all manner of trash in campsites over the years, why we boondock so much, seems people who boondock have a better appreciation of nature.

Smoked some ribs with the Snows BBQ mop and Cherry Wood smoke.
Always offer a side to neighboring campers.

A run to Memorial Mountain passing a massive, still very active placer gold mining operation.
Placer is “Salt & Pepper” gold mining.

Nuggets are still found and traditional mine shafts following veins are in this vast area.

Spotted along the trail:

As you roll through various trails you pass thru countless washes.
They easily become raging rivers in storms.

You may see where people have poured concrete rectangles on the ground and run Herring bone patterns on top.

They come back after floods and sweep the dust accumulated in the grooves and pan out the gold dust,,,, if lucky.

Panning we got a gold nugget once, never any luck there after.
It ain’t easy.

Going by the methods the book teaches, you're earning 10 cents an hour.

Today Trona Pinnacles. 30 minute run. Site of many movies. Last being Star Wars.

Like I’ve mentioned, all locations in this thread are accessible in your Scout and fun to get to.
