That seems kinda misleading. Almost no car companies are moving away. Actually Hyundai/Kia/Genesis has joined up. It’s only EV companies that aren’t doing it and it’s a bad decision in my opinion.

No CarPlay and I’ll get my $100 back. It’s a dealbreaker for me if they don’t include it, no matter how cool they sound.

Adopting a traditional manufacturer's software makes no sense since it's not made for ground-up EV platforms. So that leaves only a few pure EV company's software for buying / licensing as an off-the-shelf solution -- Rivian, Tesla, Lucid.
That seems logical, but why does the infotainment system care? Are they that integrated?
