Full EV. no worries. Don't need range extender hardly at all to be honest. The ability to strap down a generator in the bed, or on a rack and charge while driving. My choice of generator. My ability to remove when not needed. Just something to help with those really long trips I take 2-3 times a year. Not having to stop for a couple hrs to charge because I could while moving would be amazing. Just a thought.

Sounds good in theory.

But do you have any idea of the generator size needed to produce significant range extension? Given that a level 1 home charger running off of 110v will give about 5 mi. of range from a hours charge, you're going to need something you're not going to strap to your roof rack.

I wonder just what the size of the Harvester generator will be?

I got a 9K for the CT when I go hunting for those rare cases. Used it once. Took about 2 hrs total stoping. Lunch, scouting, ect. Worked great. Just saying that I would bet 90% want the extender for piece of mind over actual need. In my case there is no electricity out there at all and it is always about 50 miles I need extra. Just a thought. Not get rid of the Harvester, just give the EV side that option to charge while driving maybe.

Sounds like it's more than a wish for you. You're all set.

The Harvester genset head will be in the 100-130KW range, A generator that size will need it's own trailer to haul. A 10K genset weighing in @ around 150-200 lbs will be a chore to lift, but would get you charged up in a couple hours. But it would use as much gas as the Harvester, take up bed space, be louder and much less convenient to use.

More likely, about half that size.
I read somewhere it was about 130, but thought that was to large, to maintain full capabilities and roadability as stated it would have to be at least 80KW

not after full capabilities. the ability to to just add a bit. take out when not needed. After the interview, would also give us back the towing and weight capability. Sometimes an extra 20 miles is all it takes.

I thought that somewhere it was mentioned that the Harvester is a 1.6 liter VW 4cyn engine. That's pretty big. Again, not sure...

That's what it is speculated at being. The details for the generator have not yet been released.
