I have two EV's (both Mustang Mach-E) and live in Michigan. I've been through several winters.
In the low 30's (F) the range is off about 5%.
In the low 20's it's more like 10%
In the 10's it's about 30%
When temps are close to 0 the range is off about 40%.
BUT... this assumes no battery...
A lot of cars now monitor engine usage and the car tells the driver when it is time to change the oil (rather than a pre-determined interval based on miles or months) based on usage patterns.
I have no special knowledge … but these systems are pretty common.
It’s a nostalgic look … but unless you’re going to put a person there, it does not provide any other functional value.
I prefer the functional benefit I’ll get from the console.
