Not getting rid of it. But shes be my daily until the Scout. And will still be my track car.
2019 MINI Countryman S ALL4 with an upgraded Kicker Sound System and 88mm turbo.
I like the design, I feel it give off the true retro design. And it also gives the modern design that the “4/5th generation” scout would have most likely have gotten if they hadn’t stopped making them.
My guess is that its maintenance will be around 4,000-8,000hrs of run. Only because it will most likely run at the most torque made rpm which would in theory create less heat and wear to oil and internals. The reason it would be the torquiest rpm is because it would be connected to some kind of...
To relieve the stress I was just talking with Jamie from Scout. I ask if he had any news about the lawsuit.
he told me, “There isn't anything to talk about for now. Just some saber rattling.”
.
All because they use a VW engine for the generator i feel is a stupid thing to be using as a defense for the Dealers. If i was Scout i would be working on making a ASE certificate for Scout Motors. They are an independent company using an engine from what would be considered a “supplier” this...
It would be funny if they are joking about the 15% fantasy. Since it looks really good for a concept/pre production car. And everything on the inside looks good.
If i was scouts attorney in this stupid lawsuit. I would ask when have you seen a VW dealership selling new Lamborghinis, Porsches, or Audis? Never. Because they are their own brand and so is Scout Motors so we deserve to sell our Off Roaders how we want.
Lets also remember that this is what they call a concept production car. Next version we will see will be the pre production vehicle. Then final version. But over all it will include 85%+ of what was shown.
It’s already “set in stone” it’s too far to now wanting to be apart of it that should have been decided way before the release. I wouldn’t be to worried Scout will win the court case. They also did this to TESLA back in the day when they started direct to consumer.
To keep it competitive I'm sure they would. And since they are new i think they would want to be known for something like this. Compared to Tesla and Rivian where you have to contract your own electrician.
Most likely panasonic, quantum spaces, tesla(since thats the charging platform they are using so maybe the partnership expanded into the battery too) or rivian.
I had a feeling we would. Only because the CEO of scout said that gas engines weren't completely out of the equation back when they first started Scout Motors. And I also was talking with a guy from Scout about engine options.
