Something between "light trails" and "overlanding"/"rock crawling". Probably no mods and mainly my daily driver, I have a very short commute to work. But we enjoy getting out into the desert here in the southwest, and want to know that our vehicle can take us anywhere we want to explore.
My wife wants a camper van for the "light trails/camping" she wants to do.

I’ve got a cargo trailer turned camper we tow with the fam for summer camping. I’ll toss the quad in there and run thru some crappy logging roads loaded with snow for winter trips with the boys. I wanted something that will get me and all my gear there.

Otherwise it’ll be my daily driver.

Never had a 4R! Going back and forth between a 5G or 6G... Like many, want to see how the 6G's do for the 1st year 6G, hopeful due to the skill of the legen (Wait for it) dary plant they're born in!

We have an 07 CRV EX-L AWD that with 170K, and another ~120K being towed as a Toad behind our RV's over the years. We've had it places it did not belong, and were lucky enough to never get stuck!

We've stopped RV'ing, for now, and want a more capable 4X4 for off the beaten path dirt road exploring around the Southwest.

Expect a mix of 95% highway and 5 dirt roads.

If we go the AWD route of say the 5G Limited, or the 6G Limited or Platinum - we'll keep the mostly stock, due to the mainly highway usage. Thinking we'd swap out the 5G Limited wheels with 17 x 7 wheels from a ORD. Will see about the 6G, as I continue to learn more about the new model. -- Best to all - Smitty

Right. now, wait for it, put order in and deposit, SR5 TRD Off Road Premium, Everest, delivery, maybe March. This is number 7 4R's since 2008. Started this 2025 in plain TRD mode-4WD Off Road, then realized no more power seat on DS, moved up Premium gives power both fronts.
On delivery, straight to Michelin dealer.
Add about $2.5K to the 58 OTD.

Curious what region you are buying this from. I got many of the same upgrades on my Off-Road Premium and they cost considerably less for each item.

SE, Earl Stewart Toyota, Lake Park, FL, 108 miles from my home. What is different this time vs other 4R purchase, could not find them on Toyotas build site. The cross bars and packaged floor mats costs seem out of line. I will replace with Weather-Tech mats.
We purchased from this dealer in past years, never had a problem.

Do you have an approximate delivery ?
Thanks for info.

My delivery is scheduled for Feb 22nd to Mar 13th.

Perhaps your prices are higher because they have sales tax built in? I don't have sales tax in Oregon. But for an example This is what I am paying for a couple of those items.

Cross bars: $420
All weather floor mats: $248
All weather cargo mat: $130
Mudguard $160
Cargo cover $135

This was in line with the prices on toyota build site.

Thanks City. Looks like a regional cost difference. Dealer said, these prices will change when unit is here. I can see that, not looking for increase. Only charges above MSRP and options, is delivery. Not obscene computer registration, which some dealers are using.
Our nearest dealer, 8 miles up the highway, insisted $5K market adjustment, he lost two deals there, my daughter is ready to buy a new Tundra for horse trailers. Thanks for info, keep posted your delivery date, and pictures.

Our 6th gen 4R will serve as our daily driver as well as our mule for weekend camping / beach runs. It's what makes the 4R great... can easily pull double duty as commuter vehicle and weekend adventure machine.

Mostly the same as my 21 4R Nightshade I'm trading in for a 25 4R Platinum... (might be a 2026 here in Canada as I'm told 9-16 months). It's my daily driver. I have two teens in lots of sports, so the trunk space is nice. I have a 95 Jeep YJ Wrangler for the off road adventures.

With 52% 'Light Trails /Camping'... Which model trims/packages would be the best suited to support this less then strenuous Off Roading?
