It took 9 pages before someone started piecing together what Scott laid out as hints. Credit to @blmtnc for piecing this together. The key is that it was a hybrid engine, with a small footprint, non-turbo. Hard to find a VW engine in modern manufacturing that meets these needs. I expect it will...

I’d rather have a regular panoramic roof with shade. Both noise dampening and insulation issues are a concern with the giant exposed piece of glass. It’s why I keep my panoramic roof with the shade closed almost all the time.
I think this would be the biggest concern to meeting timelines for Scout. Projections have always been that the St Thomas battery factory will start producing in 2027, but the Blythewood facility seems to be light years ahead of battery production. If there are any delays, I’d assume it would...
I used to work at International and a big reason I’m so excited about the scout, there was always a body shop for issues with fitment and issues we couldn’t fix on the line.
Good points on the need for inspection. I expect since I’m near a studio and it looks like it will just follow the Tesla model of direct payment online. Glad there is a way to get around the direct sales issues in states like Texas.
Does anyone know how Scout will address the direct to consumer model in states where it is currently not allowed? I know Texas does not allow it and I assume I would need to take delivery at the factory if that’s the case.
