Just the buttons & switches I need, and nothing more:
- Safety items:
-- SOS is a federal mandate
-- switch gear to go into PDNR
-- drive mode dial - including locked diff settings
-- trailer brake controller
-- turn signals need their own stalk
-- windshield wipers & washer spray
-- High beams...
We have vehicles without a start button, with a start button, and *gasp* with a key ('22 Tesla Model Y, '16 Ram Ecodiesel, and '73 Datsun 240z). After I drive the Tesla for a couple of days and get back in the Ram I realize how much I hate the start/stop button.
Having the button isn't too bad...
Not too worried about the Instrument cluster, I'm just wanting the ability to turn off the center screen when I don't need it. My Ram truck has this option and I use it all the time at night or when I just want a minimal experience.

If they want to put this engine under the bed where a spare tire would normally be it creates a packaging challenge. A traditional I3 or I4 would be too tall. But inside the VW portfolio there is the 4 cylinder boxer engine used in the Cayman. I would expect Scout to use a modified...
