I'd rather just have access to the rear camera on the large screen while traveling than a digital mirror. Just a software function that doesn't bump the cost of hardware and I'd get to keep the standard rear view mirror that I actually prefer, odd as that may be.
The venting requirements of axle differentials has nothing to do with battery or gasoline power.
Since the Scout is said to have a motor for each axle and the ability to lock the differentials, they obviously plan to use differentials.
Differentials have an air space inside and lubricating...
I've had 2 Wranglers, and now a Bronco. All fun vehicles, and I've considered removing the top panels, but in reality, I never cruise with the top or doors off.
I don't care to get covered in sand on the dunes, get swatted by branches, or have critters dropping in for a joyride while on the...
4x4 vehicles have a vent/breather tube on the front and back differentials. The termination height of those tubes is also a determining factor in water fording depth. I would expect Scout Motors to locate those tube's and any other vents needing protection from water ingress at a reasonably high...
Given that a backup camera is now required anyway, an optional towing package with items #1 and #2 would be sufficient for me.
Item #5 is likely to be included with any towing package.
Items #4 and #6 have aftermarket products that can easily transfer from one vehicle to another without...
Years ago I had a 1974 IH Scout II. It had the tightest turning radius of any car, SUV, or truck, I've ever owned.
The wheel base was just 100 inches in length. Even with that short wheel base, it turned surprisingly sharp. Passengers would always be amazed when I made what seemed like a 90...
A decent system properly designed for the Scout by nearly any brand would work for me. I don't need to wake up the neighborhood, or shatter windows, but I would like clean audio across a wide frequency spectrum.
The B&O in my Bronco is good, but the Alpine that was in my 2018 JLUR Wrangler was...
For me, 150 miles on battery and 350 on gas sounds great. Provided I could fill the tank and continue without losing performance. Even with a low battery.
With the EREV, 150 miles on battery would cover 90% of my use. Other times, even the BEV's 350 miles wouldn't be enough. I often pull a...
The Bronco's Trail Turn Assist is different than a true Tank Turn, but it works, as do Turning Brakes on some Dune Buggies and tractors. Locking only the inside rear wheel so the differential diverts power to the outside rear wheel.
I've used it on my Bronco and a dune buggy as well as my...
The new Broncos with automatic transmissions have a function from the factory known as "Trail Turn Assist".
The Wrangler JL series from 2018 and up don't provide this from the factory, but a programming module (Tazor JL mini) can do the same thing.
It works by locking the inside rear wheel...
Unfortunately where I'm at, I'd be using an awful lot of fluid on the occasions I've had issues with snow on LED headlights.
When the temperature is within a few degrees of 32° Fahrenheit, heavy snowfall can be wet and sticky and builds up quickly.
Thankfully, that only happens a few times a...
