I don't mind paying for roads in some fashion (which means a tax of some sort, somewhere), but if it's truly about the weight of the vehicle, then tax vehicles based on their weight. A GMC Hummer EV weighs more than a Ford F150, which weighs more than a Fiat 500e.
Meanwhile, leave the gas tax...
The WHO doesn’t and didn’t have the USA behind. Moderna, Merck, BioNTech, and CureVac are all working on mRNA cancer vaccines in the US, UK, Germany, Spain, and Türkiye, aiming for ~2030 availability, currently in Phase I and II trials. Russia thinks they’ll have something this year, but haven’t...
I'm thinking they could decide when to fire up the RE based on predicted usage (e.g. you put in a map destination that goes over Sonora Pass) or backwards-looking usage (e.g. the temp is 20F and you're towing a trailer). Lots of existing or predicted load? Fire up the RE ASAP. Driving around...
It'd be nice to be able to start the RE shortly after getting on the road when I know I'll be going a long distance without reliable charging. That way the RE has as much time as possible to top off the battery, rather than waiting for the battery charge level to deplete and then needing more...
Yeah I’m hoping Scout can announce a partnership with one or more service networks that already exist, even if they have to get creative (e.g. Navistar, Bosch, Starbucks - just kidding on that one)
This is what drives me nuts. I see EV trophy vehicles hidden in the corner of the lot, because dealers aren’t interested in trying to sell/market them, let alone generate new interest
I read that BMW reduced the size of the range extender fuel tank on the i3 in the US (vs Europe) because if the gas range exceeds the all electric range, it gets reclassified as a PHEV. I don't have a source, so take with a grain of salt
