Welcome to the site! I have family on "Strong Island" in western Suffolk near Robert Moses beach. Scout Terra Harvester + Rivian R2 sounds like a good multi-size EV garage 👍 Have you used the R1T to tow your Aistream?
That's great news! Reminds me of BMW's Performance Center Delivery in Spartanburg, SC.
This won't just be pick up your Scout and leave kinda experience. There's gonna be a "Scout Experience Center" at the Scout factory that will will offer off-road driving experiences and factory tours. So that...
Good underbody / undercarriage photos and analysis of the Range Extender Engine location and crash protection. Also a look at oil cooler -- by The Autopian --
Have a look — the gasoline range extender sits at the very rear of the frame under the rear cargo area, with what appears to be…a fuel...
Didn't see this stat being talked about but Scout confirmed to The Autopian publication that the Harvester gas engine range extender will start charging the battery after about 100-150 miles of driving EV mode only.

Of course VW dealers aren't happy about it... no surprise.

Saw @DaveM's Harvester EV+Gas thread so thought us Electric only people should have a thread too :) So who put order deposit down on the Electric only model and why'd you forgo the Gas Range Extender option?
I still plan to keep an ICE vehicle around even into 2027 when the Scouts will hit...
The SUV's shape is definitely nowhere as boxy / upright as the old Scouts. What will be interesting to see is if the rest of the body styling is a mix of classic & modern or straight modern.
Excited for Thursday reveal!
