What exactly is Scout Motors’ priority for off-road use

It isn't too early to start talking about a kick-off rally in the San Juans. It'd probably generate some good buzz for the brand... Who knows, maybe they'd provide some support/swag. In past years, the TRD folks have been there for FJ rallies. 🍻

Air compressor included with air suspension option??

As convenient as it is, I've hesitated to rely on my vehicle's air suspension compressor/tank for other uses. And instead found an appreciation for the redundancy of an auxiliary system. Maybe it's just for peace of mind when I'm counting on AS to negotiate many miles of trails... 🍻

4-Cylinder Harvester EREV engine confirmed by CEO Scott! + 0-60mph, range, payload, towing specs discussions

I'm hoping they can keep the engine naturally aspirated. And not rely on the high horsepower part of the power curve. As the engine will last a lot longer (and run cooler) if they do. 🍻

4-Cylinder Harvester EREV engine confirmed by CEO Scott! + 0-60mph, range, payload, towing specs discussions

Yeah, wondering the same here. Most 4's are inline and are fairly tall. The proposed space seems short and wide. A boxer seems like the logical choice. Unless the 4's in question can lay on their side. But that would seem to require a rework of the pan, oil pickup, etc. Personally, I would...

4-Cylinder Harvester EREV engine confirmed by CEO Scott! + 0-60mph, range, payload, towing specs discussions

Surprised this hasn't been the focus of much discussion... Personally, I'm curious what he has in mind--that packages well. 🍻

    4x4 air suspension?

I have 300K miles on the height & ride adjustable air suspension that was an option on the Cayenne/Touareg platform. The only thing I've had to replace has been a couple broken height sensors, which are a cheap DIY job for some. 🍻

    Off-Road usage

On sand and the like, all these vehicles need to air down to keep from digging in. But in snow, extra weight is an advantage and helps with grip, all things equal. 🍻

    Off-Road usage

3-ton diesel SUVs go pretty much anywhere their lighter gas cousins go. As long as they have the right tires, clearance, traction control, etc. If anything, adding the seismic torque of electric drive into the mix should make Scouts some of the most capable off-roaders in (and outside) their...

Introductions & Welcome Thread For New & Old Members 👋

Tossed my hat in the ring for a Terra Harvester on New Year's Day. As I've been spoiled with a ~600 mi range SUV (Touareg TDI) for the last 15+years. Here's hoping the spouse and I have some more good years of overlanding in us. Personally, I can't wait to get my hands on this 'toy chest on...
