    I understand. My hope is that it will will keep up with my driving requirements as well as charge the battery up. I like the idea that I will never have to plug in if I choose not to.

    There should be no compromise in performance if you decide never to plug it in. If you choose to do so, you should be able to drive exclusively on gas and not feel like you are giving anything up. Does anyone know if the battery will charge up when driving on petrol?
