Here's all three Trailhunter skids installed a TRD Off-Road Tacoma (which shares undercarriage / underbody with 4Runner). Below are post-install photos of all 3 Trailhunter skid plates (vs. factory TRD Off-Road before install).

From Tacoma4g
I've installed all three skid plates found on the Trailhunter. Front Bash Plate, Transmission Skid Plate, and Differential Skid Plate. I've seen some confusion as to whether or not they are steel and they definitely are. They are heavy and magnets stick.
Some important notes before buying, all the front bash plates fit every Offroad, Pro, and TH model Hybrid or not, The Diff Skid and Transmission Skid Plate are different part numbers and sizes for non Hybrids. Installation for the Diff Skid was slightly more complicated but still very straightforward and easy. The other plates just bolted on.

I can't believe they cheaped out and put plastic "Skidplates" (really nothing more than splash shields) on the TRD OR.

@Gastan Thanks! What was the "more complication of installing differential plate"?

I ordered the front skid plate for my ORP. The Toyota parts website says that it's an exact fit for my vehicle, but when I checked out (online order), the order said that it "May not fit your selected vehicle". I called the a Toyota dealership and they confirmed that it should fit. It's just weird to see a discrepancy in the final order screen.

Here are the two skid plates their website says will fit my ORP:

Very nice! What did you pay for the skid plates if you don’t mind me asking?
Hey so this is my post, glad you guys over here found it usefu hahal. I payed about 300 for the front bash plate, 300 for the trasnmission skid and about 250 for the diff skid. I save some coin on shipping by being local to a major dealership with an excellent parts center.

I imagine it's the same for the 4Runner's, the front plates should be interchangeable between all OffRoad trims. Ive had the parts website say mixed things before as well.

With the diff skid you have to remove a brake line to install the one of the brackets, not hard but if you're not paying attention you can scratch it or damage it. I just used some shop towels and was careful and it was just fine. The brackets are also a tight fit and getting them aligned in the correct position for the plate was a bit tetius. None of it is hard, just not as brain dead as bolting on another skidplate.

You are worried about scratching? You must be having anxiety attacks on the trail

It says in the install instructions to not to scratch the brake line and to use a tape to cover them. So I actually took a half assed aproach to what Toyota's instructions said to do. I don't care about scratching a skids (check out my post if you want to see how they were put to use after just a month of ownership) but brake lines are pretty important.
