  1. Scout's reaction to possible repeal of EV tax credit : "Scout Motors is here to stay."

I am all in on my Scout order. Assumed EV tax credits would not be around by 2028(ish). EV tech should continue to drop in cost (relatively due to economies of scale) and ALL vehicles will cost more. Looking for reduced operating costs to help finance my transition to EV. PS: Scout’s comment’s...
  2. Insider Info for Scout Forum Members

The recent message thread about forum members losing interest and getting concerned about how the future of Scout will play out seemed to capture a pretty common feeling. How about Scout giving us a little more insight into what is going on with the development and testing using engineering...
  3. Anyone else losing excitement/interest?

I am hanging on to my reservation. In 2 + years EVERYTHING will be more expensive regardless of current distractions in Washington. Not a lot of new info on Scout recently so Forum has been a little slower. I have collected Scout pic’s over the past few months that I look at to remind me of why...
  4. Trump to impose 25% tariff on all imported vehicles & parts [LOCKED DUE TO NO POLITICS RULE]

Sounds promising. Will need a long term bi-partisan commitment to maintain some level of incentive and or protection to sustain these jobs (many 2-3 years out). Oh yah, need skilled workers for these jobs who are committed to productivity and quality.
  5. Cup holders for Terra and Traveler with the bench seat

Good question/suggestion. All of the interior discussion has focused on screens/software. I the camera shots don’t recall seeing much detail on cup holders etc. Don’t think much about it until you need it?!
  6. Trump to impose 25% tariff on all imported vehicles & parts [LOCKED DUE TO NO POLITICS RULE]

I this situation time may be on Scout’s side. ALL of the competitors prices will also rise (steel/aluminum etc.) and Scout can pick their suppliers based these new market pressures without already being locked into contracts/bids. May even be able to lease out production space in the state of...
  7. Range extender versus standard gas engine - what can be omitted?

I get the argument BUT: looking forward to simplicity of BEV maintenance (no oil/coolant/water pumps/spark plugs/fuel injectors/trans fluids etc). Any vehicle with regen braking will reduce brake jobs (not sure about wheel bearings/diff’s ext elimination?). There is the issue of battery life...
  8. VW reveals why it’s investing $5.8 billion into Rivian: for internal organs

Wow, this thread is all over the place?! VW needs access to working knowledge of integrating simplified software into vehicle design and production. Rivian is clearly ahead of any other EV manufacturer currently based the US. This practical knowledge is not available from “off the shelf software...
  9. Interior Color

I agree that more details on interior options would be great. I use my current SUV to haul dogs, various landscaping/construction supplies and take it out into fields/woods. It has black woven fabric seats/carpet (WeatherTech mats) that hide dirt well. When I really mess the seats/carpet up it...
  10. Moderate rock crawling- how much protection will the underbody protection provide?

So as I read this thread I started to think of the “heritage” of the Scout brand which gets talked about a lot. The original Scouts were simple, heavy duty work trucks. This made the prime candidates for modifying for high difficulty off roading. Pretty sure the last generation stock Scouts...
  11. Would you change /cancel your Scout order?

I have a Traveler EV reservation and plan to sit tight until I can actually drive/ride in a Harvester (either). Interested in how the gas engine changes ride/noise/vibration/ harshness of the vehicle. Also how/when engine kicks in for charging on the move. Can live with EV range of 275 mi (time...
  12. Goodbye EVs in the US?

We’ll see as it plays out. I love my ICE PU trucks/Jeep and V8 car BUT as a hopeless mechanical addict, I also want to have a EV. I knew Scout was the one as soon as it was announced in 2022. Confirmed as soon as I saw the pic’s. Also drawn to the reduced maintenance needs of EV’s and the charge...
  13. Moderate rock crawling- how much protection will the underbody protection provide?

I think answering the question of factory available off road protection for the battery/vulnerable motor/control components is important for Scout to address sooner rather than later. Scout has positioned itself as an off road capable vehicle but the initial promo vehicles appeared to only have...
